What is CFSI?

The California Fisheries & Seafood Institute (CFSI) is the nation's largest organization representing members of the consumer seafood supply industry.  Since 1954, CFSI has aggressively served its members in government representation and the marketing and promotion of seafood.

Who is CFSI?

CFSI's 130+ member companies represent all facets of the consumer seafood supply industry.  Our members are seafood brokers, exporters, importers, traders, producers, restaurants, wholesalers, distributors, cold storage facilities, transportation companies and other allied industries.  While the majority of our members are based in California, CFSI has members from all over the United States and Canada.

What does CFSI do?

  • CFSI has been on constant guard on behalf of the seafood industry for over 50 years.
     

  • CFSI continually fights to protect fishery resources and works with management agencies to assure healthy fishery populations on the West Coast and beyond.
     

  • CFSI hosts an annual Legislative Seafood Reception for our state's elected officials, legislature, and regulatory agency representatives.
     

  • CFSI's Political Action Committee (PAC) helps elect pro-seafood business legislators to the California state legislature (many go on to Congress, remembering their friends in the seafood industry).
